I will be the first to admit that I before I had ever set foot on a cruise ship I was a doubter! I wasn’t sold on the idea of being on a ship with small rooms, lots of people and large buffets (I’m not a buffet kinda girl …diva status, I know). So I planned a short cruise with my mom and my 3 kids - 3 nights, that’s all I could stomach at the time! But I will tell you, it was EXCITING and super fun! As soon as we boarding there was so much going on in every direction and the looks on my children’s face, I knew immediately we were hooked! And thus birthed our love of cruising! We have since been on many cruises with family and friends and I have to say cruising is more fun with a group!
I had the honor of being invited to go on Royal Caribbean’s newest and largest ship for it’s Inaugural sailing last year and it blew me away! Check out the Royal Caribbean Symphony of the Seas, the largest ship to sail the open seas and she is MAGNIFICENT! Symphony is the newest sister ship in the Oasis Class ships accompanying the Oasis, Allure, Harmony and now Symphony.
The Oasis Class ships have distinct neighborhoods: The Central Park - the quiet area with dining options, real trees , Balcony staterooms over looking the park a nice place to meander into a cafe or wine bar; The Boardwalk - exciting Atlantic City Style Boardwalk with a Sugar Beach candy shop, Carousel, Playmakers Sports Bar, Johnny Rockets Diner, a 9-Story twisty slide from the top deck - The Abyss and the amazing Aquatheater for the nightly dive shows; The Royal Promenade which is the interior of the ship where you with find nightly themed parties, parades, shopping, dining not to mention a Robotic bartender and Rising Tides bars that moves up between floors; the Sports and Pool Zone where the real fun happens with the Double Surf Simulators, Ziplining, Rock Climbing, Waterslides, Pools, Splash pads, Basketball, Volleyball and Minigolf - plan on not seeing your older kids for the next 7-days (except for dinner)! There is so much innovation on this ship that it would take the full 7 days to see it all!! Welcome aboard the Symphony of the Seas.
Let’s not forget the Solarium - Adult Only area with a restaurant, quiet lounging area and the amazing vitality spa. No surprise here, this is where you will find me!
There are so many complimentary dining options that you will always have an option for dining included with your cruise fare. There are also amazing specialty dining that you can try for a cover charge. My favorite was Wonderland an imaginative culinary experience!
The Symphony has something for everyone! From Ocean View Balcony Staterooms to Aquatheater View Suites to Family Suites. Check out this family suite - what kid or kid at heart wouldn’t dream of cruising in style.
